![]() ![]() ![]() Some of the new characters are cute, I suppose. Hopefully, Toy Story 4 fleshes them out a little more. ![]() I felt like I was in 6 th grade history class all over again. Toy Story 3’s parallel to societal classes and social stigmas is a neat addition to the franchise as well.It isn’t explored thoroughly but it’s most certainly present throughout the entire movie. Toy Story 3’s theme of Selflessness VS Duty is a neat addition.I hate whenever it attempts to be anything more (except for the ending scene), but when it’s just trying to be something kids can have a blast with, I’m all for it. Maybe I’m a heartless psychopath, but Toy Story 3 isn’t anything remotely special from my point of view. Yet, the movie to me seems all too familiar and all too nostalgically reliant for me to be rooting with glee on the side of praise this time around for this beloved franchise. People clearly adore the hell out of Toy Story 3. It also has a 4.1 on Letterboxd which is also quite praiseworthy especially for an animated children’s film. It has a 99% on Rotten Tomatoes, and an 8.3 on IMDb, ranking in the top 250 movies of all-time. It was nominated for best picture and best writing/adapted screenplay and won best animated feature at the Academy Awards. Toy Story 3 has been deemed a “modern-day classic” by many Pixar fans across the globe. I was head over heels in love with it! And after this rewatch, I can reassure y’all, it’s quite possibly one of the most overrated movies I have ever seen. She was wrong.I cannot tell you how many times I’ve watched Toy Story 3 as a near preteen. Most importantly, they needed to behave like this in order to set up this line: Remember first movie how he rallied everyone against Woody for "murdering" buzz? With this wife's new revelation and the horrible experience they just had it's easier to believe the truth. Mr potato head was always a judgemental character. Mrs potato head could have been lying but doesn't have to lie her husband should always believe her specially knowing their eyes work that way, kindergarten sucks (just like Woody said too!) and they all deep inside know Andy loves them. Now you have two people now saying the same thing. Being put in a trash bag and calling them "junk" Made it easier for them to believe that Andy doesn't care about them. Why not believe him? Probably because they have been in denial of Andy growing up and been years without playing. The path to the claw provided a greater conclusion. Who knows if beyond the magnet there's an even greater hazard like a metal compacter or a different furnace. I think someone with knowledge on these type of waste management facilities would provide greater insight. Wouldn't have been such an amazing ending if slinky stayed on the magnet. ![]() And then they're back on the shredded belt on the way to the furnace. But then they would have to somehow climb up to him and possibly their combined weight would pull them down. If slinky got permanently stuck to the belt then he could have saved everybody else from the furnace. The magnet doesn't seem very strong (buzz and Woody can repel they golf club to Save lotso) and doesn't seem very weak (same golf club pulls all 3 of them up.) Not gonna lie, this was a good one, I would love a better explanation.Įdit: had to give this a bit more thought. Jesse was closest, so I imagine at this point in the movie with all the craziness and acrobatics displayed she could have worked something out. I like how you saved the best for last, I had to go back and watch this since it's true, but just because they don't show how doesn't mean one of the toys couldn't have helped. Potato head conveniently lost her eye in Andy's room and she witnessed Andy arguing with his mom about the trash bag after he looks in the attic. Big baby found him so it's not like he would've gone anywhere anyways. The telephone toy tells Woody once he comes back that security tightened once he left. Wow this is one movie I've seen with my kids so many times I can actually contribute! ![]()
